Will Hillary be elected as a representative in congress in 2018?
Will the democrats be the majority party in the congress after the 2018 election?
Who will be nominated as the Speaker of the House in January, 2019?

(5,126 posts)okay, so how funny would it be if we took the House and Senate in '18, elected Hillary Speaker, impeached Trump and Pence... and....
fixed this whole fucking mistake?

(2,897 posts)that enough Senators will cross party lines and vote to remove (barring a resignation a la Nixon). The threshold of the remove is 2/3rds of the Senators present have to vote for it.

(1,714 posts)Trump and Pence will not be impeached and removed at the same time. If Trump is, then Pence becomes President and nominates a new VP. If he is then impeached and removed, then HIS VP will become Prez. Of all the possible people that Pence would nominate as VP, Hillary Clinton is probably at the bottom of the list.
So, no, Hillary Clinton will not become president.

(11,252 posts)She's the party leader in the House. Whether she wins depends on how many Democrats win in November.

(32,930 posts)If she wanted to run as a Representative from her home in Chappaqua NY area, the NY17th, she would have to primary Nita Lowery a Dem who has held that seat since 2013. There is no obvious reason to do that.

(4,492 posts)NO reason to primary her. She turns 80 this year and will probably think of retiring soon.
From the rumors I've heard, Hillary isn't the Clinton that some want replacing her.

(4,492 posts)Her district is already a Democratic district (although the congresswoman turns 80 this year).
