I'm happy they are but there cannot be too many people with access to those. Who is doing it?

(146,255 posts)The situation is fairly explosive and the number of people with access is small. There will be no hiding, really, for whoever it was.
Someone will probably be dropping a resignation and walking out while Trump is gone.

(4,742 posts)Even back when the first week of his residency I wondered who leaked the call with the Australian Prime Minister. I mean there can't be many in the loop. Think Spicy might do it??

He could be on the AF1...I just got home and catching up on TV news.

(108,955 posts)The third official in the NY times article said that DT was using this talk of pressure as a negotiating tactic in order to get concessions from the Russians.

(15,635 posts)for example, Pence stands to gain from Trumps fall. Or so he thinks and hopes. Anyway, I wouldn't assign the hero label to the leaker at this point. Hell, it could be Trump himself -- maybe he's had enough and just wants to be able to say, " Okay, I'm tired of this bullshit. Got bewtter things to do with my time. I'm outa here!"

(14,971 posts)If what the New York Times reported is true, Pence is probably rehearsing, one House Republican who asked not to be named quipped Wednesday. Its just like Nixon. From the standpoint that its never the underlying issue, it is always the cover-up. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/05/17/mike-pence-president-trump-238525

I've long suspected Spicey might be a mole.
Of course, that might just mean he's a subterranean rodent.

(9,524 posts)notes for the transcripts? And was brave enough to leak them? WH has to be able to identify the source with so few people present. And if T knew there were notes being written, is he really that dim that he would say all that stuff even if it was being written down?

(15,635 posts)you just can't make this stuff up! Can't believe we're living a third rate political spy novel in real time. Maybe it's just Donnie himself thinking it's all just a reality TV show and going for ratings!

Some progressive radio has said Pompeo or Pence. Those are interesting names. Pence for personal gain, don't know about Pompeo.

(518 posts)Clandestine data capture and release, by operators not in the room, is distinctly different than seeking a leaker among the "cast of characters" in the room and their aides). It still gets the un-vetted info out there, and remains anonymous (until it falls apart). We have learned from the IC that if it can be monitored, it will be (total information awareness).
My hunch is the recent, so-called leaks from the Office of the Speaker of the House (Putin pays Trump & Rohrabacher) are part of the IC same operation.

i am so thankful for all the good leakers. the republicans may want to pretend there's nothing worse but no, there is plenty worse when the people in charge are unrelentingly destructive to this nation.
i watched an episode of the first 48 and this woman whose son had been murdered, said "I don't want to be a rat" to the police. It didn't take much persuasion to get her to tell all she knew, after all it was her son, but some people actually act as if helping to bring a murderer to justice is worse than murdering a person.
i'm never going to get that. but that is what i'm hearing from the republicans all the time. don't look at what we did and what we're doing, look at who told you about it! yeah, heroes they are. heroes.

(43,153 posts)...that being said, he's probably the closest thing they have to an actual himan being as opposed to an automaton. Just think of guys like Stephen Miller or Gorka. Probably the fact he actually has to have a relationship with the press corps makes him a little different.
I'll put it this way: I pity him. I pity him like a sick animal.
I have a love-hate relationship with his persona, but it's better than the hate-hate relationship I have with the rest of them.
