Toll Road Profits From Saudi/Blackstone Deal Go Back To Them. Trump Selling Off Commons.

Get ready for toll roads with "no compete" clauses under the Saudi investment deal. Besides weapons the Saudis will get money from the toll roads and bridges and maybe even water and sewer departments in the end. And corporations like Blackstone will get some of the take. Plus no "no compete" clauses also mean that public infrastructure cannot be improved or built that competes with resulting toll roads and bridges.

And workers building this infrastructure will NOT be able to afford these roads, bridges, et al. Imagine having to cross the ONLY bridge or taking the ONLY road at $15 or $20 a pop. You could spend hundreds of dollars in tolls just to go to work. And the jobs created will be low wage non union jobs in construction trades.

In time our national highway system will be a series of tolls to go cross country. And almost all of that profit will go to some overseas country or corporation and NOT the US. And these deals will have 99 year leases on them.

Yup, America First at it's best. I pledge allegiance to profit and to the corporations for which it stands.

Why would he do this?

And, please tell me this deal requires some kind of congressional approval?

Sorry, I had to take a weekend off.

It will require congressional and state legislative approval for each project. That's not a given, by any means.

No Congressional approval needed. Right now a foreign corporation can come in and make deals on infrastructure investment. There are some cities where the water is privately owned and operated. I believe Milwaukee is one.

The GOP believes that the commons should be a commodity for profit and not be publicly owned. That belief even goes to the national parks system. We have an element in the country that believes that there should be NO publicly owned commons. It should all be corporate even foreign owned.

Bush had a plan or idea to have the entire interstate system turned into toll system.

Better off with a toll road that funds national parks.

Oligarchs should get their filthy, greedy, grubby paws smacked EVERY single time they reach into the treasury!

They sold the parking meter system to a Dubai conglomerate for 75 years. The city got a few billion and was able to balance the budget for that year, but it was later determined that the city got shafted big time (billions) in the long run.

In the meantime, the meter rates have gone up, and you frequently have to pay on Sundays and holidays.

about the selloff and sellout of America. Perhaps it is time to purge the entire Congress and WH and completely start over. Our country is a much bigger mess then imagined.
