Thomas Ricks on CNN - Wow

He is a measured guy so when he says General McMaster is losing his soul working for Chump it has resonance.

It reminds me of when Tony Soprano made Bobby Bacala who had never killed someone before kill someone. That's what happen when Chump sent the general out to dissemble.

Gangster monster president.

Also mentioned Conway and Spicer but they were always vipers, McMaster was supposed to be a good guy.

He may have sympathies for some of Trumps positions

2. He didn't have to take the job, and he could resign anytime.

That would imply that he is NOT on board with Trump and may even be working as a saboteur. Trump or his minions would soon ferret out that sentiment. In fact I wouldn't doubt that the good general was also asked for a loyalty decree to his Dear Leader, as that seems to be a requirement for any job he issues.

I'm more inclined to believe that he's not as clean and pure as some wish. I think there is this almost debilitating desire for someone, anyone to stand up against him that is in his inner circle, that we project our hopes onto the most promising cases. How long did we pine for Ivanka to stand up and speak out for decency, honour, integrity, against her father? Thinking surely she MUST not think the same way as her father. That she would stand up for her country over her family ties. Turns out she is a willing participant at the feeding trough.

1) Ricks is measured
2) Ricks suggested McMaster is holding on out of patriotic duty lest he be replaced with a Steve Bannon type.
