Once again, Donald Trump exhibits his puny lack of vocabulary.

In using an extremely weak and overused word to describe a terrorist who killed children at a concert in Manchester, UK, he illustrates the paucity of his intellect once again. "Loser" is a word that has become meaningless in the English language. Trump applies it frequently to describe people with whom he simply disagrees. Coming out of his mouth, the word has zero weight and no real meaning at all. It is a sad commentary on the man that he has no other word he can use to describe a person who would detonate a nail bomb in a crowd of youthful concert-goers.

This is the witless, inarticulate man who is the President of the United States. In his clumsy and intentionally ignorant way, he debases both our nation and the rich, expansive vocabulary of the English language. As a nation, we have chosen our leader very poorly. As President, Donald Trump reflects the society that chose him, unfortunately. We have given up on the education, intellectual curiosity, and mental acuity that once made us a leader in the world.

It is not the terrorist who is a "loser." The terrorist is a depraved ideological tool who carried out an unspeakable act. It is our President who is a "loser," and who is making our entire population look like fools. A pox on this ignorant man.

Someone linked to a video of him on this board. It was pretty amazing.

That dog has more advanced language skills than Trump. There's no question that he would also be a better President.

It describes Trump's base seamlessly.

I love what you said here:

"Coming out of his mouth, the word has zero weight and no real meaning at all. It is a sad commentary on the man that he has no other word he can use to describe a person who would detonate a nail bomb in a crowd of youthful concert-goers."

And here:

"This is the witless, inarticulate man who is the President of the United States. In his clumsy and intentionally ignorant way, he debases both our nation and the rich, expansive vocabulary of the English language."

The same has appropriated the "thumbs-up" in almost every posed picture taken of him. He's weak, he's cheap, and he's doing whatever's the easiest for him.

I must add, I think he demonstrates a TREMENDOUS lack of vocabulary.

13. Trump even more than Baby Bush is proving that the very wealthy are neither smarter nor harder...

working than the average Joe.

It's funny that we've had two Democratic presidents from the middle class, Bubba and Obama, and two from inherited wealth, Baby Bush and Trump, and it was the wealthy ones who both said being president is "hard work."

Which makes me wonder how hard if at all they ever worked before.

15. both shrub and benedict donald managed careers of relatively little work.

shrub was an abject failure and they had to funnel him money to even pretend that he did anything successfully.

donnie managed to surround himself with crafty, unethical lawyers and accountants and figured out ways to become and remain rich while suppliers and lenders and partners lost money.

donnie certainly worked harder than shrub, though much of it was not in the "adding value" sense so much as the "making sure the money ends up in my pocket and not yours" sense.

likely neither worked anywhere near as hard as bill clinton or obama.

William F Buckley had a puny lack of vocabulary.

"When he said I am not going to call them monsters but losers. I'm calling them losers because...". My mind jumped to, because it is one of the 100 words in my vocabulary and I like to use it. Truly ignorant man.

9. I feel as if I am living in the movie "Idiocracy".

For those of you who may not have seen it, it is at times hilarious and worth a watch, though in hindsight comparing it to the current state of things, it is a bit disturbing.

An excerpt from the Wikipedia synopsis sounds all too familiar:

"The film tells the story of....

-snip-

....a dystopian society where advertising, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism have run rampant, and which is devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights"

Well put!

Waiting for the closing credits on this living version, dammit!

14. When he made the statement calling those responsible "losers"... it struck me
Tue May 23, 2017, 02:37 PM
May 2017

what a weak, ineffective string of words he used. The man has speech writers available, people with skills he apparently does not possess and yet he goes out in front of microphones and cameras and wings it. I think of how President Obama sounded when he made statements like that. He often spoke haltingly and in a measured way. He rarely would wing it. But that was because he knew that every word, every syllable, every pause would be analyzed and parsed for days. tRump seems to have missed or skipped that part of orientation to the presidency. That's a pity because everything that comes from his lips will go down in the historical record. Some historian far into the future is in for a surprise when they read the wit and wisdom of Donald J. tRump, 45th President of the U.S.
