There is more to worry about than at the height of the Cold War and not necessarily just in the sphere of the United States. Very cautious analysts who monitor such actions are clearly worried. Add to that a reviled shattering administration that needs a distraction.

it's like I am reading all this traumatic stuff and not taking it in, looking through a prism of colors and unreality.

It's overwhelming and too much for my age and blood pressure so I only let small parts affect me.
