1. Did you see the eyewitness report from the TV crew?
They backed up Ben Jacobs. Also gave statements to the sheriff's dept.
Fox News team witnesses GOP House candidate 'body slam' reporter https://www.democraticunderground.com/10029112143 "At that point, Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him. Faith, Keith and I watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, "I'm sick and tired of this!" Snip "To be clear, at no point did any of us who witnessed this assault see Jacobs show any form of physical aggression toward Gianforte, who left the area after giving statements to local sheriff's deputies. As for myself and my crew, we are cooperating with local authorities. It is not clear if charges will be filed against Gianforte at this time. " |

5. Wouldn't matter if the Pope and five cardinals backed him up, a sheriff is an elected official.
My bet is that Jacobs is charged.

2. The reporter should sue the jerk.
If criminal justice does not prevail, then hit him in the wallet.

7. Billings Gazette that endorsed Gianforte reports Fox
They are getting a lot of hate replies for their endorsement, but at least they are covering the assault.

9. The guy is a fucking loose cannon who can't even hold his shit together for another day!
.
MSNBC says that around 75% of the votes appear to be mailed in, so this might not change the election. . |

12. Professional courtesy,
that is term used by LEOs. Family, friends, judges and politicians all get get one.
It is a violation of the law, the constitution and oath of office. From not writing a traffic ticket to lying to cover a crime by another person because of a relationship to that person. |
