Franken said he considered Cruz "singularly dishonest and smarmy” during a USA Today interview about his new book, "Al Franken, Giant of the Senate." The Cruz-focused chapter is titled “Sophistry."

»»» A page of the book circulating on Twitter reveals a time when the former "Saturday Night Live" comedian stepped in when Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) was struggling to write a joke about Cruz for a Gridiron event.

According to the excerpt, Franken told a version of the joke in front of Cruz that called him "full of shit" as part of the punchline...

So glad he's decided to come out again -- at least within the covers of his book.

Hope to see the real Al Franken use his powers for good in 2018.
