What's your gut feeling? Rob Quist (D) or Greg Gianforte (R-Bodyslammer)

(21,060 posts)The "fake" news media reporter upset the snowflake. But in the cult of 45 rethug world today. He is a strong man willing to stand up to the fake media. I can hear the narrative on Faux tonight when he wins.

(21,060 posts)Quist grew up there and knows his state. Despite the odds against him I will keep my fingers crossed for him to win.

(59,578 posts)Sick and tired of "moral victories", "impressive showings" and "Well, our turnout and margins didn't suck nearly as much as they did last time!"
It's time for some fucking actual wins.

(10,437 posts)Mean something....when you look at 30 house seats conservative won by 8 points or less, damn right it matters

(59,578 posts)They're going to start drifting away, and as momentum slows, what's already difficult becomes far more difficult.
We'll see what happens in GA-6, but (counting SC for Mulvaney's old seat) if Handel wins, that will put the Dems 0-4 in four straight specials.
And yes, state legislative wins matter, but it's not going to keep the train moving down the track.

(51,129 posts)And, if half the voters had not voted early, it would be a far more memorable disaster for Greg Gianforte, who may have some time in jail to reflect on his demise.

(65,162 posts)Race was closer than expected so the voting today puts Quist over the top. Montana is hard to poll, so might not just be hopeful.

Mr. Quests, my best thoughts are with you!

I certainly hope it is.

(23,325 posts)I just drove through western MT (amazing country) and saw tons of very nice vacation homes along streams and mountains. Can the owners vote, even if this isn't the "season" to occupy those little mansions (overgrown log cabins)?
Based on the amount of money invested in what is probably part-time housing, I'd guess there are many Republicans in that club.

The R only won by 7 though, which I guess is encouraging?
