You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put ** ** half ** ** of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? . . . .. . . . But the ** ** other basket ** ** -- and I know this because I see friends from all over America here -- I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas -- as well as, you know, New York and California -- but that other basket of people ** ** are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they're just desperate for change. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well.

Worse, they breed. Worse still, they pass on their ignorance within the family, extended family, and on a community level/lateral traits exchange that reinforces said ignorance.

Some small cities, towns, and hamlets are little more than echo chambers of warped ideas and values, misinformation, and petty, fearful thinkers. Some not so little cities, too.

But I'm a tad bit pissed at conservatives these days. Well, for the last 50 plus years, actually.

I live in such a small town, and folks were much quieter during the Obama years. Certainly we heard comments about "Obummer" but they were more cautious about speaking publicly. Now they are emboldened by trump and other republicans to step out of the shadows and shove it in our faces. I think that some of the very ugly confrontations we have seen between trumpers and people of color or "others" are the result of years of pent up anger coming to the surface. The scary part to me is that it is being normalized. When trump and others are excused for their boorish and bigoted statements and actions, their supporters feel justification to follow suit.

In high school, I would often tell myself oppression can force creativity. You're held to the prejudices of others - which was the oppression - but your mind remains free. Use it to get out and away. I hated that town.

Granted, some things are better left unsaid...and this was one of them. But it is accurate...EXTREMELY accurate as evidenced by his rallies and thousands of video clips circulating across the country. MANY are flat ass deplorable. Sorry if the others feel insulted..but when you hang with trash...you get the label.
