(888 posts)I picked a good time to Google, "monster Mulvaney," and ended up here.
Malcolm Nance, was the first one that said, follow the money. Last July, when everybody else was talking about her emails and they Comey decision.
Paul Butler can explain the complex legal issues in a very simple manner

(888 posts)And why they feel that way.
But common decency, and some sort of compassion for other people is totally missing.
It is not disappointing to see an arrogant, entitled, narcissistic, insecure, bullshit artist, go down in flames, get the marshmallows ready

and not seem to care that the most vulnerable amongst us will be screwed, maybe even fatally.
That just seems like a special place reserved for the worst

Mr.Bill
(24,237 posts)if we lose the election, no one will care about all this. If we win, they won't be able to touch us. We will own both houses of congress, the Justice Dept., and soon the Supreme Court.
The flaw in this thinking was they forgot about what might happen in November 2018. They are overplaying their hand. If the republicans maintain ownership of both houses of Congress in 2018, we are 100 times more fucked than we are now.

(1,192 posts)Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated can long endure............................"that the nation, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

(2,521 posts)"Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide."
