Two stabbed to death in Oregon for defending two Muslim women

Two men were fatally stabbed Friday on a crowded commuter train in Portland, Oregon, when they confronted a passenger who was "yelling a gamut of anti-Muslim and anti-everything slurs," a police spokesman said.
The suspect may have been targeting two girls who were described as Muslim. One of them was wearing a hijab, Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson told CNN.
"We have not been able to find those girls to verify that," Simpson said.
Police are considering the man's remarks as hate speech, the department said in a statement.

Last night as the story was unfolding on local news I described it on DU as a terrorist attack. I have a good friend who takes that train when he comes to visit me. He would have intervened in a situation like that, so this feels very personal.

A radicalized Christian killed two people. He was likely radicalized from following the words of Extremist leader Donald Trump who advocates for violence regularly.

Terror Attack should be leading all the headlines.

Witnesses told the police that he was harassing two women who appear to be Muslim. One was described as wearing a hijab. One of the men he stabbed died at the scene, one was pronounced dead at a hospital, and one is expected to survive.

Christian is a known right wing extremist and white supremacist. On April 29, Christian showed up to the right-wing "March for Free Speech" on 82nd Avenue in Montavilla with a baseball bat in an attempt to assault left-wing protesters. The bat was quickly confiscated by Portland police officers. He ranted how he was a nihilist. He'd soon yelled racial slurs ("fuck all you n*****s&quot and gave the Nazi salute throughout the day. He yelled "Hail Vinland" throughout the day.

A few Portland police officers on April 29 appeared to be familiar with Christian, but not threatened by him. They claimed he had a head injury and was mentally ill.

4. This is the third time I've seen something posted about this attack............

and I'm going to say the same thing every time. I strongly urge EVERYBODY who is as mouthy as me, who would have stood up to this bully like these martyrs did, to get some training in self-defense, including weapons. It might make a difference or it might not, BUT it would at least even the odds a bit.

I'm ALWAYS armed with a knife wherever I go and I've spent several years learning to USE bladed weapons because I KNOW that I will stand up to bullies who are on occasion armed and I will need to defend myself or others.

This is also a prime example of why you don't let racists and fascists have an unopposed platform to spew their murderous rhetoric. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT WINNING AN ARGUMENT WITH YOU! All they want to do is intimidate you into shutting up.
