Let me tell you a story...

I was a nurse aid, senior citizen's care, for 13 yrs. The job is demanding. Sometimes there wasn't enough hours in a shift to do all the duties you were required...so you shave a few minutes off every chance you get...short cuts.

Now out of respect for our female residents, we were supposed to allow them to pick their own clothing ( if they were able.) So to save time...Would you place the resident before an open closet and say..."Here choose" or would you pick out two garments and say "Which one?"

She feels empowered and in control, she got to vote. There was an appearance of a choice.

The fact is, I was in control, I picked her selection, she decided which one.

With Citizen's United, after this election, the country is gone. Elections wont matter. They will always be in control. They pick the two candidates, we decide which one..They will even pay for the show...not much freedom is it?

The Citizen's United decision is a huge threat, and my only issue. All other's including the economy are down the list.

The party more likely to overturn Citizen's United, is the party I will vote for. It has boiled down to that.

Can I get an Amen?

these corporate bullies to dictate to us is the only answer I can think of.
Voting for any candidate that has accepted help allowable through "Citizens United" should be considered as offensive as farting out loud in a restaurant.
We the Citizens need to be United in our opposition to this enormous influx of money into our political system!
If we do not put forth the effort to organize and fight back we do not deserve to live free.

Meg Whitman spent a fortune here bombarding California with ads and lost to Jerry Brown who most people didn't even see until his acceptance speech.

So there is hope.

On the other hand, I think the ruling gives me the right to state that China, Iran, Syria and the Taliban are big contributors to Willard "Mitt" Romney's campaign.

Can they prove me wrong?

...to ALL state and federal legislative candidates: Will they support AND WORK FOR a constitutional amendment to overturn the Citizens United ruling? If they say ANYTHING other than an UNQUALIFIED "YES", then Fuck 'em!!

Other than a Supreme Court reversal, a constitutional amendment is the only way to overturn it. If the candidates won't support that, then we should not be supporting them.

Not quite as blatant but how long have we been picking the "lesser of two evils"?

We do get to choose the lesser of two evils now. Citizens United takes even that away from us.
the SCOTUS ruling was so obviously nothing but a political decision-not based on the Constitution- that it will be overturned if we ever have a non-ideological majority on the court again. Where in the Constitution does it make corporations people? Where does it make money speech? If money is speech, where does it give those with much louder voices the right to drown out the speech of other "people"?
We must take back the court, and this means that we must re-elect the President.
