Corey Booker likes Trump meme of tonight, could we have a word that means that? I propose "sverchki" which is Russian for "crickets".

(11,119 posts)We should fill the thread with posts about the weather status of each poster's locale or each poster's favorite chili recipe or the name and type of the beverage that each poster is currently imbibing...
That way you don't have to respond to anyone who has already responded to the post and the original poster is puzzled as to why most posters aren't addressing the original post!

(118,492 posts)This is how you say guest in Russian: "Gosti" That works too. That is Indian originally. I did a college talk on manners and some of the English language comes from Indian subcontinent. Through Russia in this case. Back 10s of thousands of years ago. So guest gosti ghost works well too. So many choices.

(4,372 posts)I saw a couple of threads-one that said people were trying to knee-cap CB because some were critical of his position re JK and DT impeachment, and another that posted that the substance of a tweet alleged CB supported JK and DT-not true either. Are those the threads?

(118,492 posts)start Benghaziing him fast enough. Remember they started the "outrage" on Hillary and Benghazi before Obama's second term. Even if the trollskys pick up on a authentic comment, they have proven that they can do a lot of damage when they set their minds to it by putting their foot on the scale.

(5,272 posts)frontrunner, any more than they are fond of, or are carrying water for, Putin. It should not go with the territory that if you have misgivings about a Democratic candidate, or harsh things to say, that that makes you a Russian operative or stooge.
That said, as somebody who isn't a huge fan of Booker the politician, I don't think withholding judgement on
Jared rises to the level of scandal. People who are concerned about money going to Booker might have a point--when something happens following the money makes sense--but nothing has happened here yet. Frankly all of our politicians should be wary before they call for drastic action against a person. Putting your foot in it isn't going to do us any good, and that goes the same for people jumping to conclusions about Booker now.

(118,492 posts)We have to wait till there is a link to identify a pattern? Remember when Obama went to his first Congressional Black Caucuss weekend as a newly elected senator and was followed around by gorgeous women coming on to him so bad that he went home upset to Michelle. And then publicized what happened? Obviously and attempt by the GOP to mess with Obama's chances at running for president some day. Which did not work. Why should we let the same game work here on the DU with Corey Booker? Assume the GOP or Russians are going to try to wedge any daylight between us and our potential 2020 candidates. And do it with trollskys and gostis. That should be commonly known. And we should have a safe word for each other when it looks like it is happening.

(4,372 posts)to intimidate people from speaking out about issues that are relevant. You look like you are taking a page from the republicans. "you should put up some warnings" indeed. Propaganda alert, calling people trolls and operatives who do not blindly support Cory Booker. Good luck with that. You will need it. I find it interesting that DT always accused others of exactly what he was doing. It's called projection.

(118,492 posts)get bandwagon going on one politician vs. another. It did not work out to well with Bernie bros and jackpine radicals and Jill Stein and Hillary. We have to be able to fight grey with grey.

(5,272 posts)these boards, I'm not thrilled about us making the easy assumption that people must just be operatives or fools when they have something to say. The more ludicrous an attack on Sanders or Clinton or Booker is, the easier it is to shred the poster's argument on the substance alone. This isn't a one-direction affair where you can't take down the nonsense by showing just how much nonsense it is. I see no value in assuming the poster is posting out of something other than sincerity. I also don't put a whole lot of stock in the notion that there are a lot of paid propagandists here a LONG time out of the next election, and longer still before the next Presidential race. I could be wrong, but it seems like a silly waste of energy.

(5,272 posts)happens now matters, but it matters in ways that would be really hard for people to predict. Taking down a candidate at this stage in the game doesn't really make any sense to me, since that just means that candidate might be too damaged to run for one reason or another, or else not be able to come out on top in the primary. Some other less damaged candidate will take the lead instead, or fill that opening in the spectrum for the primary run. I mean, I'm not claiming this with any certainty,I could be wrong. I could be missing a big piece in the puzzle, but so far, I just don't get the logic for it.
applegrove
(118,492 posts)in 2012. That was to do in Hillary. And it worked well. They had no idea who their candidate would be 4.1 years before Hillary ran. They would only be emboldened.

(1,097 posts)Everything is riding on the 2018 election and trying to bypass that into a 2020 election mode is complete idiocy.

(118,492 posts)Hillary on Benghazi before Obama had won the 2012 election. Ignore it if you like. Of course we need to focus on 2018. But don't forget the GOP play a long game.
