my grandmother a gold star mother I was thinking of her on Memorial Day

My grandmother was a fine loving woman, she came to America as a young woman from Eastern Europe an immigrant and they settled in the coal region of western pa Appalachia. Growing up she was my brothers and my rock, she raised seven boys and three of them served in Vietnam my father and two uncles. Two survived there tours duty I was probably four I remember seeing men in uniform at her house a snowy winter day we were sledding on there hill. And I clearly remember hearing my grandfather hollering for me to run go get your father boy. And I remember her sobbing at the funeral home I was maybe 4 and a casket that was closed. I did not understand why the casket was closed I did not have any memories of my uncle. Alls I know he was marine KIA my uncle told me who also was marine and served in Vietnam that his brother was killed at place called Arizona territory. My uncle told me it was bad place to be , not to beat a dead horse but the champagne pop sickle tweet made me remember my grandmother.
