So unaware. How much cognitive dissonance is required to complain about something that made you famous , in this case leaks.

You start by shutting down his ridiculous Twitter account.

to elevate your position.

The good news is if there was any doubt about Greenwald, Stein, Taibbi, and the other phony assholes, they have exposed themselves for what they are.

No doubt when this all falls apart Greenwald will slither back into the picture and say something like "he always knew there was a Russian connection". Hopefully by that time he will have lost a good number of his readers. He should have lost all credibility by now

leaks are being seen as okay to people, and not being condemned by the same people who have condemned other leaks. It was a clunky ass tweet to try to attempt that, and I had an entirely different comment until I ran into that twitter exchange, but I see no reason not to buy that intent. You can disagree with the validity of the argument, but if that is the argument, it isn't actually about Greenwald condemning these leaks.

Sigh. It's a point about how DC elites treat leaks inconsistently based on what they like. This was my next tweet:Glenn Greenwald added,

I personally am not bothered by these leaks, but DC goes insane over low-level, harmless leaks, imprisoning leakers. These way more serious.

Your buddy has a platform because he helped encourage a CIA employee to steal and disseminate, without discretion, classified information, potentially putting lives at risk.

His mewling false equivalence backtrack is embarrassing. And utterly predictable.

usually hawkish about leaks? If so, that might be convincing. Otherwise, given that I'm only going on what he himself has posted, until somebody shows me otherwise(and when I have time, I might dig for it myself after work), I see no reason to not take him at his word in the full context.

this has nothing to do with him being my buddy, which he isn't. It shouldn't have anything to do with you hating the man enough to be utterly certain either. If all you're going on is this tweet and your dislike for the man, that isn't enough. I'm striving for some level of personal objectivity. I hope you are too.

If you've familiarized yourself with Greenwald, you'd know that he has a rather nasty propensity to play coy when called out. He's pretending to be outraged that politicians maintain double-standards, but his actual beef is that said politicians were, themselves, outraged about the theft and dissemination of classified - some highly so - information by his one-time cash cow Snowden.

We know that he really doesn't give a shit about leaks because he would have - as others have observed - been equally vocal on the subject during the Obama presidency. Including, and most specifically, those from Snowden himself. He wasn't. And we know that he didn't care, during that time, about the duplicity on the part of elected officials, because it has only suddenly occurred to him.

Your posts suggest that you believe his dissembling - thus the snark. If that's not the case, I apologize.
