2. Not so much -- cool that he is there, was praised by Trump and on principle will leave

I would imagine that at the start of the administration, many good people on councils and even in the State Department, Justice Department etc stayed because leaving might be worse.

7. I think at best it's a wash, he legitimized DT in a way... while likely knowing he was being used.

"Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Saturday chided business executives that leave President Trump’s business advisory council, saying doing so “would be wrong.”

In a pair of tweets on Saturday, Musk remarked on the influence that sitting on the advisory council allowed him to have, saying he was able to make addressing the president’s executive order on immigration a top priority in a White House meeting on Friday.

He also said he was able to raise the issue of climate change at that same meeting. The council, he said, is “doing good,” and he would remain a member."

11. Also Disney Iger

Robert Iger, chief executive of Walt Disney Co. , also said Thursday that he would resign from the president’s business advisory council, as “a matter of principle.”

When Mr. Trump took office in January, Mr. Musk and Mr. Iger were criticized for being among the U.S. business leaders trying to advise the administration. Mr. Musk was named to groups looking at manufacturing, government innovation and economics, while Mr. Iger, a Democrat, served on the council.

Mr. Iger responded to his critics at Disney’s annual meeting of shareholders in March. He said he decided to remain on the council “to have the opportunity to present specific points of view directly to the president” and said his membership didn’t indicate his or his company’s support for any specific policies.
