Beranton J. Whisenat Jr. - it has now been a week/8 days since the body of

Federal Prosecutor Beranton J. Whisenant Jr. was found dead on a Florida beach with apparent head trauma or a gunshot wound.

Good man, according to many articles; beloved and admired by all who knew him.

I am checking regularly for news of the cause of his death, but if you see any news on him, please do post on DU. We need to know wtf happened here - mob hit? Mistaken for someone else, and "accidentally" killed? Suicide (no way, but I'll add it anyway)?

Thanks in advance, DU

This struck me as odd, as well. & NO updates?
Link story says he joined Miami office in January, where was he working prior to that?

Whisenant, 37, spent more than nine years at Foley & Mansfield, a national litigation firm where he made partner in 2013. He left the firm in January to join the the U.S. Department of Justice, according to a profile on professional networking site LinkedIn. In private practice, Whisenant specialized in product liability, medical malpractice, toxic torts and securities litigation work.
