I know we're all hoping for a "smoking gun"...

...that will put Trump away, but there's no such thing. Impeachment or removal by the 25th Amendment are both basically political acts. NOT doing those things is also a political act. Right now there's an abundance of grist for the mills of either impeachment or 25th Amendment removal of Trump. What's lacking is the will. I just don't see how the appearance of new evidence of malfeasance or incapacity is going to create the will -- we're swimming in both.

Seriously, if Trump hacked someone to death with a sword on live TV, I don't think that would change any Republican minds. They'd just claim it was self-defense.

is threaten to not protect him in any way especially as it relates to his business affairs. The agreement would be resignation for health reasons for total shut down of any effort to investigate.

Neither side wants an impeachment trial, and the 25th Amendment is a non-starter. If he is going out, he is resigning.

Their constituents keeping (dc & local offices') staff busy will help elected ones "find" some will.

A special counsel is investigating his fat, traitorous ass. One federal court after another has blocked his draconian, immigrant hating agenda. And those scandals are just for starters for Chump. There's no way he's going to get through his bogus pResidency. Just call the orange menace toast.

on that horrible night in November, could you imagine all the shit that would be going down just 4 months after inauguration day?

I mean, I knew it would be bad, but what is going on is just unbelievable. And its not sustainable for Republicans to continue to defend him.

We have to get more Reps to finally be too appalled to support him. There is probably a benchmark approval he has to get down to. Only then, when House and Senate members who think their seats are jeopardy will something change.

I would think that when Comey confirms in public that Trump pressured him to end investigation - that that should sway some more. Chink, chink, chink

evidence about those and other crimes. This will be an explosive case, to say the least, and they are making sure that all their ducks are in a row before going public. In an effort to incrementally apply pressure and expose more evidence and crimes, they may publicize indictments in pieces or in waves. Plus, it takes a decent amount of time to "process" those who may flip. It is coming.

is the complete alienation of the Republican Party, where going into the presidential election of 2020 their ceiling is about 40%. I believe the majority of the American people already believe that he has attempted to impede the investigation. The Republican members of congress don't appear to care. It might be the case that the Republicans are incredibly entangled with Russian money, so much that this was bound to happen.
