(9,865 posts)He admits he knows nothing about Brooklyn, talks disparagingly about it-I never imagined Id be in this verboten place [I paraphrase]but he now sees what an attractive place it is for making money. Ka-ching!
No feeling at all for the neighborhoods, established small businesses, people and communities that have been displaced by the fast mega-development of Brooklyn by guys like him.
The people who live there have been fighting this kind of thing for years and losing and being priced out. They're really displaced and heart broken to lose their history and architecture and places they grew up in.
Theres no awareness of the life of human beings to him-just the $$$$$$. And he talks about it very, very fast.
People in the Tribeca/Soho area hate his father-in-law's Trump Tower for these very same reasons. The Trumps are the worst kind of developers in the eyes of native New Yorkers who are trying to preserve historic neighborhoods.
