How can we know who they are, so we can avoid doing any business at all with them?
Any ideas? Suggestions?

(1,883 posts)I doubt any public company would limit contraception.

(3,040 posts)Public corporations only exist to make the most profits for the shareholders, and they will maximize even more profits by excluding contraceptives for their lower paid workers and non-executives.

(3,040 posts)But, it will make them more money and that is all they care about. It is the same reason why the minimum wage is so low. They lobby to keep it low. Corporations do not care about their workers and this is no different. The people that can afford to quit their jobs and make a lateral career change to a different company would be the same people that would be more likely to have their insurance include contraceptives. The working poor do not have that luxury.
America is a fucking cesspool when it comes to health care and woman's rights.

(3,040 posts)They just don't care anymore. Most corporations are in a race to the bottom to make most profits.

(1,883 posts)Microsoft, alphabet, apple, Costco, ge,etc limit benefits. Ok, maybe some companies in red states do it, but not if they want to grow....
Smaller companies in red states who hate people in general may try to implement that crap.

Corporations don't care if it saves them pennies, they will do it.

(8,166 posts)Some regressive s******* redstate companies may do it but most companies in blue areas like where I live would never do such a stupid thing.

(3,040 posts)Maybe you are right, but there are very few good corporations these days.

(8,166 posts)If they have a bad reputation for hiring women or treating women different than men, it could be disastrous for their bottom line.
I guess we'll see. If I can boycott a company that would do such a thing, I will.

Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)Is every major publicly traded corporation and most private corporations will do away with contraceptive coverage for their lower level employees and their families. And, of course, any small to medium sized business that cares more about profits over employees.
Sadly, greed will ensure that most businesses will exclude contraceptives -- even if it is for other health reasons other than birth control -- from their insurance policies.

(63,221 posts)ridiculous law they would see a huge reduction in their talent base. Most well educated, high-level candidates would not sign on with a company that subscribed to such a ridiculous curtailment of benefits.
I know for a fact that my company would not go along with it and our employees would not support a company that did either. Don't think that companies don't know that they would lose a lot of their best employees if they went along with this. They stand to lose the best and the brightest.
I would like to think most of them are not that stupid.

This so everyone can COMPLETELY AVOID THEM NOW AND FOR (FUCKING) EVER!
smirkymonkey
(63,221 posts)I would not patronize an establishment that ever denied their workers basic human rights and decent healthcare options. They will suffer for their greed. However that will also hurt the workers. I don't really know the answer to this, but if corporations are being threatened with going out of business because of their greedy, hateful actions, perhaps they will reconsider their options.

Health insurance and employment should have nothing to do with each other.
