It still feels like an alternate reality.

My radio goes off in the wee hours of the morning, tuned to the BBC. So when I awoke to those voices, they made no sense at all, because they seemed to be talking as if Trump had won the election.

Really, it made no sense at all. I'd apparently awoken into an alternate universe.

Luckily for me I read a lot of science fiction, so the notion of an alternate universe isn't that strange. But how in the name of all that is sacred did I actually wind up in THIS alternate universe?

They knew enough to think he was rich and very successful and was willing to devote his own time and money to create jobs and make America great again, or as low-information voters, they voted for him as the default Republican. These are the voters who are starting to regret their vote. He has already lost a third of that support and that will continue to increase.
