And the thing is, they mentioned the costumed hand only has a thumb and 3 fingers, so the additional left arm/hand motion was included to underscore what the gesture was.

They had Gilbert Godfried as a booth guest in for some reason. I guess he got a little carried away because later on the announcers were discussing amongst themselves how to handle someone in the booth that was "crossing the line"

I didn't listen to when GG was on because the game was out of hand and they weren't doing much pbp
