Democrats Bid to Retake House Begins In California

June 1, 2017 By Taegan Goddard

New York Times: “If Democrats have any chance of capturing the 24 Republican seats they need to take back control of the House, the road to victory starts here in California, and particularly in Orange County, a former conservative bastion that favored Hillary Clinton in 2016. It was the first time the county had voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1936.”

“All 14 members of the California Republican congressional delegation voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act, including seven who, like Mr. Issa, represent districts that voted for Mrs. Clinton. Four of those come from districts that include Orange County.”

Not sure about how the Central California races are shaping up but I do know there are many efforts to flip districts throughout Southern California. Seven of 'em have been targeted including Darrell Issa's in southern Orange County and Steve Knight in northern L.A. County. Swing SoCal Left is on it, Indivisible is on it, the two local Democratic clubs I belong to are on it, Code Blue is on it, Sister Districts is on it, and our beloved Ted Lieu has his own PAC aimed at flipping those districts.

It'll take a lot of work. But there are lots of us working on it. We are legion.

lose his seat, finally. If one lives in Nunes district, Swing Left is sending them to another one for the fight (22nd to 21st). If Nunes was not as safe as he is, no way would he be pulling the antics he is. And, Issa being in such jeopardy is why he hides on rooftops!

There's a lot we can do in CA, but Nunes district? Really don't think so.

and Labor issues. If someone runs the right Messaged Campaign,Nunes is toast.
