Yeah, no he's not and if you believe that you have been successfully conned.
Let's look at the image that went around social media about Booker and Big Pharma created by The Other 98,
Turns out there is a lot of bullshit to this meme:
1. The vote these guys said no to would not have lowered drug prices.
2. They took a second vote on a bill that would lower drug prices and Cory voted yes on that. This is absent from this dumb photo.
3. The numbers shown dont only represent money from 'big pharma'

Second, if you have twitter, you should read Deray's thread about the whole Cory Booker and Big Pharma

(47,209 posts)Who are using their anger to fuck with their heads. This anti establishment thing is the last straw - tossing aside tireless workers for justice in favor of fly by nights like Turner and others? Reeks of poor judgement, their thinking is as clouded with anger as many in the GOP. They think THEY have more right to be angry? Nuts.

(459 posts)They usually call themselves "Green", although they do their best to torpedo the only major party that is environmentalist. Sometimes they call themselves Socialist, occasionally qualifying it with "Democratic", because Socialists so frequently become authoritarian.
But you knew that, I suspect. You're not stupid. Just being deliberately disingenuous.

What's disingenuous is pretending Hollywood celebrities and 'green' candidates are Left
But you knew that, I suspect

(459 posts)...and anything other than insane authoritarian left isn't really left.
I assure you that isn't true.
Just like Trump doesn't have to wear a swastika and sport a short mustache to be "on the right".
Yes, Hollywood is filled with people who were going to be poor, right up until they landed that part that made them a star. And they still remember that. And yes, they're leftist, even if they're not engaged in violent repression of most of the country, like what is going on in Venezuela right now.

(36,106 posts)I'm sure you mean well, and I'd like to assume good intent, but I think we're using different definitions
I don't know what 'insane authoritarian left' is
I do know that in the US, Left parties and movements are very, very small
I don't think Jill Stein or Susan Sarandon are Leftists
Steven Maurer
(459 posts)Um, okay.
That explains a lot, actually.
I assume you mean well as well, but to reiterate, the phrase "leftist" means people who are more liberal and/or communitarian than average. That there are leftists in the US is a tautology, and even judging by world standards, there are a lot of leftists here too.

So the last time I posted it, she said, "I've read that somewhere before," to which I answered, "No doubt. I posted it the last time you ran that erroneous meme. And I'll post it again the next time you do."

(37,748 posts)One of the leading indicators of a Democrat's star beginning to ascend is an increase in the amount of trolls and half-wits sharing sub-literate hit-pieces about them on DU. That being the case, yesterday's posts indicated Booker is rising faster than is comfortable for many.
Context, nuance and relevant detail are anathema to trendy memes, popular t-shirts and idiot bumper-stickers.

(2,419 posts)and have a sense that he's an articulate and attractive character but 1) doesn't have big family money behind him so he accepts money from a variety of folks, sometimes regrettably, and 2) he is not grounded ideologically -- he has dabbled in free-market capitalist enthusiasm as well as neighborhood populism. I'm glad he is on our side, but I wouldn't bet the mortgage on him, like I would Bernie, who has a lifetime of consistency.
Not a suitable party leader, but a damn fine local political figure with a strong base of supporters.
