General Discussion

Even with interference (hacking?) from Russia essentially verified, we still see infighting about the election outcome - nitpicking on vote numbers in states, lamenting not showing up at the polls on election day, it's Bernie, it's Hillary, it's the far left, it's independents.
IT IS RUSSIA. Hillary simply was not going to win the election - she would not be allowed to win.
Then we have the deranged creamsickle throwing endless shit at the wall that is each day - because it is all about him. It is all about the attention - there is no bad attention - it is just what he craves.
But - this is now so far beyond WTF, so far beyond FUBAR, into pure, demented evil - it is about simply taking everyone and everything - including the earth - down with him - down with them. There are elements of racism, of course - about erasing the "black man's legacy".
But this is all about the hijacking of our country by Russia via Trump. I suspect the root cause is a combination of money, power, and feeding the sick, narcissistic mind of the orange object.
I am so beyond pissed off, so beyond "I've had it" - there simply are no words left.
And I've not even raised the role that the "sports analogy" eye ball and click media played - and plays - in all of this.
But it is truly sick.

My view of humanity in general is pretty low right now - happens when our potential flaws are laid so bare.

And then I'm going to stay away from any news.
This is the ultimate narcissist's wet dream, where everyone is attending to his every whim. I'm going to take my attention away from him and re-charge.

(193 posts)News is she called many CEO's to implore her diseased father to remain in the Paris Accord. Of course she didn't show up to work today to see her diseased father throw away any leadership role in the world.
Truth is she is a selfish bitch who will undoubtedly have a SAD that this was the straw that broke the camels back to her status in NY high society. She will be shunned by the artists and left leaning socialites whose attention she and Jared crave. I hope they suffer the same fate in NYC that Madoff's sons did.

(19,558 posts)In a pitiful attempt to fit all this into a semblance of a nutshell, those are my words. Forget everything else, and look at that goal and the effect of events on so far on said goal.
It's not a time to be being petty, or childish. It's a time for the best and brightest among us to rise up and come to their senses. We need to unite and fight this before our losses are insurmountable on a local and global level.
We're in a very bad way here, and most people in the US are only paying glancing attention to our predicament, if that. Which is another thing we need to wake up to, everyone isn't as tuned in and evolved as we are. No matter what you may think, most people don't really give a flip until the bottom falls out from under them. Then, and only then, do they look for someone to blame, and it's very often not the entity responsible for their demise due to their ideological mental blocks. <----- I know this doesn't make sense, but it's still a statistically proven fact.

(51,567 posts)After a few days I heard John Oliver tell me how he felt and it made me feel better, then Sam Bee and Keith and within 10 days I attended my first protest. I have been signing petitions, gone to 5 rallies so far, writting and calling TV, media, and congressmen, donating small amounts to newly formed dem groups, hand making anti-tRump bumperstickers, pins, earrings, and spending hours each day doing this . It makes me feel like I am doing something or else I'd get drunk or stoned everyday to forget the black cloud hanging over my country. Being part of the resistance energizes me and drives me to do more. I encourage others to do the same. I don't have too much longer to live (that's the silver lining...I won't have to live through 4 more years of the fake prez). But if I can give it all I've got before I get too sick then I will die with pride in my soul. RESIST!
