What's the Donald going to do the first time a hurricane hits Florida or the Gulf Coast? There's no FEMA director. What will he do if an earthquake causes massive destruction on the Pacific Coast or in some country halfway around the world? Donald doesn't know. Donald probably doesn't care actually.
The Donnie may have shot his wad (sorry) and doesn't have the stamina for a second round. He's taken his big shot by withdrawing from the Paris Accord, but that may turn out to be just some dribbling, since we're on track to meet those standards anyhow, without him. So, what's next on The Donald's wish list?
He's already pissed off NATO and the G7. He already has pissed off the Pacific partners. He's got Kim Jong Un all worked up and madly shooting off firecrackers and stuff. What's left for Donald Trump to do? Perhaps not much. Perhaps he's going to be busy just trying to defend himself and his makeshift administration.
What's he going to find when he reaches into his top hat to pull out that rabbit? A Russian Bear? A Siberian Tiger? Maybe a Giant Panda? Who can say. So far, he hasn't pissed off Japan. Maybe that's the next thing he'll manage. But, then, maybe he's going to be really, really busy with this investigation stuff and not have much time for infantile hi-jinks.
We are truly living in interesting times...

(3,040 posts)My conclusion was that whatever happens, it will make Katrina look like a well run operation. This is especially true if something happens in a state that didn't go for Trump. He is vindictive enough to drag his feet just long enough to make people suffer.
The only exception will be if a major hurricane hits Florida because he will want Mar-A-Lago up and running as soon as possible. The same goes for wherever he has a golf course.
Also, I don't think NATO and the EU will be as supportive as they were post 9/11. They are already reducing the Intel they provide us.
