Religion is one of them. Every time he opens his mouth he reveals just how stupid he is. (Shakes head in disbelief...) It makes me sick to think he is the HMFIC.

It's where the GOP gets most of their votes.

But I think he's in the minority.

My family is absolutely filled with nice-seeming people who are intensely "Christian" ... and who would never vote for anyone but a republican.

That's my father's side, my mother's side, and the bunch that mom married into after dad died.

They act like perfectly nice people, but they support taking food from the hungry, care from the sick, retirement from the elderly, and any chance for the imprisoned to ever walk free again.

They do that with their votes.

They do it in the belief that their god is blinded by the word "politics" and cannot see how they're defying him.

And that's here in Minnesota. From what I gather, it's absolutely required in the south.

in my yards for Democratic candidates. A neighbor asked if I could be a Baptist and a Democrat. I replied maybe not but I was pretty sure he couldn't be a Christian and a Republican.

The world would be a better place if more Christians actually read the Gospels.

Very different. Many mainline Protestant churches are quite progressive.

I believe there's more diversity outside of the South.

I'm no expert though.
