My family is absolutely filled with nice-seeming people who are intensely "Christian" ... and who would never vote for anyone but a republican.
That's my father's side, my mother's side, and the bunch that mom married into after dad died.
They act like perfectly nice people, but they support taking food from the hungry, care from the sick, retirement from the elderly, and any chance for the imprisoned to ever walk free again.
They do that with their votes.
They do it in the belief that their god is blinded by the word "politics" and cannot see how they're defying him.
And that's here in Minnesota. From what I gather, it's absolutely required in the south.

(11,034 posts)in my yards for Democratic candidates. A neighbor asked if I could be a Baptist and a Democrat. I replied maybe not but I was pretty sure he couldn't be a Christian and a Republican.
The world would be a better place if more Christians actually read the Gospels.
