https://thinkprogress.org/the-arse-of-the-deal-a90ba795cabfTheres one final way Trump has screwed America, his voters, and himself by breaking Americas word and abandoning a deal that 190+ nations agreed to after a quarter century of negotiation. The deal is not even binding. The pledges including ours are voluntary.
Now it will be vastly harder for Trump to convince any major country to negotiate or renegotiate any deal including all those trade deals Trump promised his voters hed fix.
What country will trust his word in any negotiation? Between this move and his disastrous European trip, Trump has abandoned all of the goodwill and world leadership that gave this country so much global influence for so long.
Trump has dealt away Americas moral authority, our world leadership, our environmental security, and our economic future. In return he has gotten absolutely nothing. He may well be the worst dealmaker in U.S. history.
------------------
I just thought of an absolute PR-horror-scenario for the White House. Imagine Trump doing an interview.
Ask Trump about all the deals he wants to do.
Then ask Trump if he would abandon other deals and international commitments if it turns out that other countries and corporations are taking advantage of him.
Does anyone believe, Trump wouldn't say Yes?

(111,249 posts)1. Other countries now know they can trust the US only 4 years at a time
because the fail-safe against installing a populist lunatic, the EC, failed to do its duty and we're in grave danger of electing another one just like him at any time.
That's what he's done to us. Centuries of being able to trust this country, administration to administration, to follow policies that have been long standing were damaged by Stupid. Now the trust has been obliterated by Asshole.

(63,221 posts)3. The biggest lie ever sold is that Trump is a great deal maker.
He's a con man and a rip-off artist, nothing more. He likes to think of himself as a "deal-maker" but he's no better than a low-life street thug.

It is not America's advantage but his own personal advantage. Only a fool would buy Trump property without getting him to touch a glowing orb. Trump wants the entire planet to go back to Junior High.
