Ah, the joys of how comedy and humor works continues to confound people

It goes back forever, particularly with the dangers court jesters had to face, and we've had oodles of it over the past century from the likes of Don Rickles to what Lenny Bruce faced.

For me, what helped define my own thoughts on it early on, was a comedian from "my time" that dealt with being censored and his views on it. And what I found from that was that it made me listen to a wider range of people and what they were saying to form my own opinions rather than just a constant shutdown or blocking off of others.
