From politically correct to extreme douchebag

The pendulum has swung again. From finding some things inappropriate or unable to say, we have given license to hate. It is deemed acceptable to be openly racist, sexist and homophobic. Or at least, that is the appearance of reality in Trump's version of America. Who cares about dignity and respect or common decency. I know that the whining and being butt hurt by everything or the perception of that has lead to this. But I do believe we will get to a point after some continued fighting, that compassion will again be the rule to follow.

So now we hear these cretins from the right claiming that they are victims and have been left behind. We hear them last out at women, minorities and lgbt. And yet you can't reason with them. It's an exercise in futility or like banging your head against the wall. We have to pick and choose our battles and our approach as far as where to focus our energies. Some of the hate and venom will always be there. But when it infringes upon the rights of others to live freely and safely, we have to stand together and fight. It won't always be pretty but this is our democracy we are talking about. I am not going to let it go up in flames without a fight.
