There are about 600 positions that need to be filled. They have nominated (these are almost automatically approved) 98 or so. Of course on their first visit to the WH during the transition Jared asked how many of the staffers at the WH needed to be replaced. All of them.

Bannon doesn't seem to think they are necessary

I don't think anyone wants to get near them now from a legal bills standpoint to literally being his chew toy.

He's lying, again. Congress (the **Republican-controlled** Congress, mind you, and actually it's the Senate that's involved, not Congress as a whole) isn't "taking forever" with his nominations. There's a vetting process for Senate confirmations and he's been slow in nominating people and they've been slow providing the necessary documents.

Some of them they've announced, but haven't bothered to actually send to the nomination to the Senate yet.

Of 559 key positions tracked by the Washington Post and Partnership for Public Service, 442 of them (80%) have no nominee yet.
