Is Corker trying out for a job in the Titanic administration?

NASHVILLE - In a move bound to start political rumors flying yet again about his future Tennessee political aspirations, two-time Superbowl champion Peyton Manning appears to have gone golfing Sunday with President Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.
An Associated Press photographer snapped a picture of Manning, a former University of Tennessee star quarterback, and Corker as they exited from Trump's motorcade which was returning from Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va.
.....
A spokeswoman for Corker, a former Chattanooga mayor and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, did not immediately respond to a series of questions posted by the Times Free Press about the outing.
...
Back in January, there was considerable buzzing nationally as well as in Tennessee GOP circles after Manning was invited to speak to congressional Republicans at their annual retreat.
The speculation? U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., didn't intend to seek reelection in 2020.

(182,603 posts)Going back to enjoying watching him get his ass handed to him by Florida- and I'm not a Gators fan.
Then he stayed another year and still doesn't get a championship and THEN UT wins a national championship the year after he went pro.
I could smell his assholishness back then.

Peyton Manning Allegedly Teabagged His Female Personal Trainer, Blamed The Incident On Her "Vulgar Mouth"
* * *
If the phrase "Aw, shucks" fell into a vat of chemicals and grew arms and legs and a face, Manning is what would come crawling out. He would then lurch to the nearest athletic facility and drop his soupy grundle into a woman's face, because that's also his M.O.
Back when Manning was the star quarterback at the University of Tennessee, he was being examined in the locker room by the university's staff personal trainer, Dr. Jamie Ann Naughright (nee Whited), for pain in his foot. While she was crouched behind him in possibly the most vulnerable position a human being can submit to, Manning pulled down his shorts and sat directly on her face. Naughright's harrowing deposition described the event thusly: "It was the gluteus maximus, the rectum, the testicles, and the area in between the testicles. And all that was on my face when I pushed him up."

(4,490 posts)If I recall the story correctly, the trainer had possibly reported him for academic fraud when he was a freshman, leading to Manning ( and some others probably) having a grudge against her. Manning was close to a man who was involved in a student athlete cheating scandal, and donated a lot of money to have a building named after him.
Then there's also the HGH situation where Manning alegedly sent some goons to intimidate a witness.
There's been an awful lot of smoke surrounding him.

(14,914 posts)and I am wondering if Corker is being considered. It is of interest to me because he is my senator and it would free up his seat. He is quite popular and would be hard to beat in a re-election, but we might have more success electing a Democrat against whomever fills the seat if he vacates.
