4. Agree. Standing together against the enemy (us),
no matter what that requires of them, is their big strength, no matter if they're temporarily discombobulated while regrouping.
And it's important to remember that with rump out of the way, the Koch alliance, Mercers, Pence, Ryan, McConnell, and all the rest will probably be able to more effectively proceed with dismantling our government. |

10. Pubes made peace with Trump months ago. They knew if worse came to
worse Pence (their real hero) would end up as President and Lord help us.
I want Trump strung along till at least after mid-terms in 2018. |

9. As long as Hair Douchengroper polls in the 80th percentile among republicans
they won't desert him

14. 80% not that good actually
Usually support from members of one's own party is in the 90s. Losing 20% of your base voters, and party ID is the best predictor of how a person will vote, is a recipe for electoral disaster.

16. He's at about 88% right now
Which is in the 80's.
They aren't going to desert him and one reason is, there is a large segment within the voting republikkan party that support him They will turn out in 2018. Labrador is safe, as are some others in the free-dumb caucus But, there are others that are far more vulnerable. And since districts are so gerrymandered, they know if they get the nomination they're on the road to re-election A primary opponent is about all the can derail many of them Dorkenschmidt in the white house has a solid (read:rabid) group of supporters. |

17. There's safe seats, but even 88% isn't that great
Obama was probably in the high 90s during his 8 years.

...they boarded The Titanic with Trump at the helm.

tragic that just when the worst president gets in--a puke, of course--they get both houses of congress too.
They were doing better under Obama than dump. Just like everyone else. ![]() |

12. they said, and it was said "sources say" the exact same thing throughout 2016
while I would love to believe this, I don't. Someone upthread said it best: for the GOP the only evil is the Democrats and they will do anything to oppose us.

19. The smart ones have already been there since before the election
The more Trump fucks up, the more there will be to join the party. Assuming all the Dems in the House vote for impeachment, it will only take 25 GOPhers. If this doesn't happen before the next session, there will undoubtedly be more seats lost by the GOP. So it's really just a matter of when they want that ship to sail.
