I've found that people in and around D.C. are much more involved in the day to day minutiae of politics than elsewhere.

including freshly squeezed ortanique juice, poached eggs with cheddar, chives and tomatoes and whole wheat toast.

has more juice than an orange with that lovely hint of tangerine. Once you've had an ortanique, you abandon the orange. One of the joys is that they are mostly seedless. This is the end of the crop until August/September.
