There will be lots of questions from both sides, but I expect Comey to stick closely to what was in his prepared statement and not offer much more than that in response to questions. I'll be listening, but I don't expect to learn much that is new from his actual testimony.

(4,407 posts)Because if he does, he would have to explain why they didn't act on it. His facts are already out, he's not going to testify as to his "feelings," unlike yesterday, where their their personal opinions hid the facts.
It's going to be the exact opposite of yesterday's testimony, but to the same end.
If that makes any sense?

(146,189 posts)So, they'll get more and more shrill and accusatory and try to shift the conversation to something else. Comey won't play along. If they ask irrelevant questions, Comey will shut them down with a terse answer.

Is there a reason not to respond openly? Will he be concerned about ongoing investigations and open vs closed hearings now that he is civilian?
