...or should they focus on the 38% the support him?
After all, Trump is totally dependent upon his base to support his continued assault upon our democracy and our Constitution.
If they continue to "only" attack Trump, it allows the Republican Party and their base to escape the scrutiny they deserve.
It is the 38% that are the biggest threat to our democracy at this time, not Donald Trump, in my opinion.

Bring him down, and the entire party gets shamed because of him.

(10,952 posts)Democrats need to focus on the fact that Trump's base should not be allowed to dictate to the rest of the country. They should be rallying all of the remaining 62% to return to rational thought and beat the 38% at the ballot box.

Trump needs to keep Congress in a constant state of turmoil to ensure that they cannot do anything but rubber stamp his agenda of working for Putin.
Another weak area for Trump is business. Companies are starting to realize that the international chaos that Trump is instigating will hurt the markets. Even Trump's billionaire donors will start to back away from him as markets crater.
So we need to keep focused on elective offices and boycotts of companies.
Extremist groups will usually peter out as some of their constituents get tired of losing. Others will get more extreme as they see their hopes fading.
