The GOP is responsible for McCain's meltdown. They were obviously conspiring

to drag President Hillary Clinton into the Trump fiasco and gave this marching orders to their member os the committee. McCain was just following marching orders and ended up totally confused.

when his client is in trial for murder and there is motive and forensic evidence and the attorney says "How do we know that the deceased didn't annoy some drug dealers on the way home from work the day they were killed" with zero evidence that this is what happened.

Plausible? Not if all the evidence is in the other direction.

about all the questions the cons asked was what they DIDN'T ask about. Nobody mentioned the unmasking BS - that was supposed to be what they were to deflect to (according to Donnie - THAT's the big story). Not one con obliged that BS. I think that's significant.

amount matters to us in 2018 in terms of how many state legislature and congressional races we can pull in traditionally very red areas. We need both badly. Congress for obvious reasons and the state legislature races to try to get some momentum going into the 2020 elections and subsequent redistricting.

I think 27% or so was the low point for Nixon and/or George W Bush, so I think that is the best we can hope for.

Losing ones base is serious business. Peeling them off is worth going for, imo. We can multitask.

And the Republicans haven't finished gutting the ACA. Wait till people start dying after they lose their healthcare. Don't worry. You won't have to lift a finger to convince their families of who murdered their loved ones.

Haven't you read the postings here from DUers with family members who are regretting their Trump vote and it's been less than a year? You give up to easily.

There is about 6-9% of those folks that could still be eventually convinced. Again, I'm using the Nixon and George W Bush low points as my guide. And those 6-9% are important in terms of punishing the GOP in 2018.

No, I will NOT apologize for that.

H doesn't understand the difference between a completed investigation into the legality of using a private email server while Secretary of State (which Rice and Powell also did)

and

an ongoing investigation into Russian hacking and interference in the US election.

"Double standard" my ass.

He obviously didn't even understand his own gobbledygook.

It was shocking to me and probably equally shocking to Comey for McCain to seem so befuddled and demented

Sad and scary to think that McCain is supposed to be one of the few stalwart patriots who has claimed to be so concerned about Russian intervention and aggression, but obviously a total hack unless he was deliberately screwing up his marching orders so he would be totally ineffective in tearing down Comey's credibility.
