Could we end up in a scenario like this?

Where the investigations determine that tRump did indeed violate laws yet the Repub House does not proceed with articles of impeachment?

That just seems untenable and unbearable for our country.

Mueller finds criminal activity, like money laundering and mob activity, what happens then? Are we still in a position to do nothing?

The GOP asshats are drunk on their unified dominance of the government....SCOTUS, POTUS, Both Houses...
They would look at a video of Trump choking someone and claim he was performing the Heimlich.

The term "most important" election gets bandied about a lot, but the 2018 mid-terms will decide whether or not we retain a true representative republic or simply roll over and become a full-on banana republic forever more...

republicans, who are singularly focused on tax cuts and repealing the health care law and keeping their base happy, don’t give a shit. That means we better come up with a progressive plan to improve people’s lives before the midterm elections, because these hearings—or Trump’s incompetence and rank dishonesty, or repeatedly emphasizing how This Is Not Normal—won’t win elections for us.

If Trump gets impeached and removed, they'd get President Pence, and as that's no real relief to you or me, to them I'm sure he's probably much easier to deal with on a personal basis than the highly volatile and mentally imbalanced Trump.

I guess they figure--as they should because it's true--they've permanently fused to Trump's legacy at this point, so if he goes down, he brings them all down with him politically.

For Pence and for congressional Republicans, there'd be no escaping Trump's toxic residual stench long after he's gone. Sucks for them.
