Total vindication? Not so fast...

Special counsel Robert Mueller has recruited the Justice Departmentís top criminal law expert to help with his investigation of ties between the Trump presidential campaign and Russian officials.

Deputy solicitor general Michael Dreeben, who has argued more than 100 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and oversees the Justice Departmentís criminal appellate docket, will be assisting Mueller on a part-time basis, according to sources familiar with the arrangement.

The move signals that Mueller is seeking advice on the complexities that have arisen already in the investigations, including what constitutes obstruction of justice.

"Michael Dreeben is to criminal law what Robert Mueller is to investigations,Ē former acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal said Thursday night. ďLiterally the very best. Yet another sign of how serious Mueller is about this matter." Now a partner at Hogan Lovells, Katyal has been a key figure in challenging President Donald Trumpís travel ban.

1. Not quite Total vindication in January, conviction by December

Manafort conviction. I still think it will be, Manafort, turning state's evidence for leniency,

forcing resignation to avoid indictment for impeachment. Two years from now.

2. That will be their line of "reasoning" until Trump is actually led off in handcuffs

But yeah, "vindication," because it's a fairly common occurrence for testimony before a Senate committee to result in the immediate arrest of a person. Sheesh.

3. I feel like our reality is proof of a parallel universe

Who would have imagined this unfathomable scenario, even a year ago? These are weird times.

4. Now, I hope the Orange Asshole keeps spouting off about total vindication

I think that would really piss off an investigator and a criminal law expert! Keep talking Donnie boy!
