Trump refused to sy whether there were any "tapes", but said he would let the press know

"in a very short term"

My first inclination was to fault the press for not asking if that "short term" was comparable to the amount of time he needed to release - as promised - his tax returns after he won the election.

But don't be to hard on wittle Donnie for not being specific about when he would let the know. First he has to get them from a third party in another country.

Which tells me that the answer is either no, or he will just never answer. Because he knows the press loves tapes.

He loves stringing people along like that, especially the media. It's a simple yes or no question that he could answer right now.

I was thinking it was a Freudian slip referring to his (hopefully) abbreviated time in office. I'm surprised Dem PACs are not running attack ads against Pence now. It would drive the Cheeto Benito berserk!

Or after the commercial break.

He said he was going to run the country "like a business" (which wouldn't work), but he's really trying to run it like a stupid reality tv show.

45 is a big FAIL.

I am sure he is positively swimmy headed with the power and adulation he has gotten since January. As has been pointed out by many others, he is not curious about history or the job he occupies. So he has a flawed vision of what his job should be. The ties he has to Putin have enormously complicated things. The web of people around him with ties to Russia guarantee we are in for a protracted war to get our country back---if it survives.

I really believe we are in a very precarious situation and find it difficult to know exactly who can be trusted and counted on to stop the madness. I keep thinking surely we have not been taken over by Putin by putting his puppet (and the others) in charge. I would like to think that our checks and balances are working, as pointed out by Dan Rather on Rachel's show Friday night. But still there is a nagging feeling that we're missing something....something big and ominous. I am looking for signs that we will survive trump's invasion of the White House, but the current investigations seem to be moving too slowly. At this rate, tRump will have destroyed things beyond repair. And with so much attention on tRump right now, that leaves the republicans in Congress free to work their agenda.

Good grief, it's late. I am rambling. Maybe some sleep will help me wake up with a better outlook.

Just imagine that Trump did indeed tape those conversations.

Then he boasted about them on Twitter.

Then he deleted them because they are incriminating.

And now he wants them back...

A TV tease if you will. He's been doing it since he got into this damned election almost 2 years ago.
He acts and talks like a tv host.
Instead of a definitive answer or even a reasonable dodge, it's literally a tease to stay with us, and after the break we will reveal the leaker, or the tapes or the whatever.
This to him, in a very frightening way to me, is nothing more than the ultimate reality show, starring him.

As I recall, in Washington, D.C. it's legal for one party to record the other without the other's knowledge or consent. Maybe Comey has an ace up his sleeve . . . or a wire.
