he was recounting conversations he engaged in personally while he was in government.

Those conversations were not classified, nor does a privilege exist.

That makes him more of a witness to history than anything else.

Much like hundreds of others who have left government service and written about their experiences.

Comey didn't share anything publicly that was legally classified/confidential or that didn't belong to him. He was also no longer unemployed by the 'boss' he was discussing.

7. It was not a 'leak'. Period.

In order to counter lies that tRump was telling, and to hopefully trigger the appointment of a special counsel, he GAVE his personal, unclassified notes on meetings with tRump to a colleague to GIVE to the media.

To me, that's not a leak.
He was very up front about it.
