And it's things that will be looked at.

I'm not saying you specifically, but there's always that "now is not the time to talk about this" kind of thing.

When something happens to someone you look up the relevant information. When someone like a house rep ends up in a shooting people are going to look very quickly to see their stances on it.

So, for reference, when would it not be "too soon"?

from saying all lawmakers ought to experience an incidence such as this... I still believe this to be true!

these people make laws everyday that cause others to die... I got no sympathy anymore

We've seen it with numerous things with various conservatives over the years. They're against gay marriage until someone in their immediate family turns out to be gay. Against social security or health care until someone they know relies on it and would die without it.

They could brush off Giffords since she was the "other side."

They'll brush off Scalise, too, but Scalise himself may soften and change.

And until DU comes up with a definitive about it the whole thing will be open to individual members I guess.

All I can say is that when I saw the report come through on Twitter my curiosity was raised as to Scalise's positions. So I looked and put together a brief look at it since others may as well.

Anymore than a young man with a criminal record deserves to be killed. So in my view it is never appropriate. I believe that all human lives have value, regardless of whether I like their votes in congress.

I consider voting records when I vote. Not to determine if someone's life matters.

Because that's what it looks like you're saying.

Now that he's been shot we can NEVER talk about his positions until his election?

I don't believe I said that he deserved to be shot. I have no idea what your subject line is talking about.

But after all the massacres that have occurred in this country as a result of GOP backed laws, my heart has hardened. They couldn't even pull it together after 20+ CHILDREN were murdered in cold blood!

Scalise doesn't care about how his policies affect the rest of us, but I wonder how he feels now.
