I guess it's a done deal: it was a liberal targeting Republicans

That's the unrefuted story that's circulating on all the news channels.

No one's asking about the ball players' uniforms. Nor about inconsistencies about the gunman's description.

even against Republicans and, even as frustrated and angry as many of us are about what Trump/GOP has/is/expected to be doing, no responsible people on the left/Democrats have advocated for nor ever would advocate for violence against Republicans. That's the truth that will, unfortunately, doubtless get lost in the shuffle of right-wing blame-making if the gunman's motives were political in nature. I'm glad that none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening and that the suspect is in custody.

But I am going to absolutely hammer the fuck away at any RWNJ in my life - online or off - with the 'THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO POLITICIZE SUCH A TRAGEDY bullcrap to anyone who whines about how repukes are victims. You know, the same way they treat everyone else when some right-wing loon shoots up a mall or movie theater.

Perhaps some good will come of that in that at least a few of those dimwits will realize how it feels and perhaps think about that in the future. Most won't, but we're in baby steps territory anyway.

GOP needs. It's not letting the Republicans frame the narrative to talk about the fact that they will absolutely milk this bullshit story for all its worth. I really think people are underestimating how much they will use this to bury every other news story and paint the picture of liberals being crazy traitors.
