They are turning this shooting into political hay. Saying that the Democrats rhetoric caused this. How soon they forget Donald Trump's rhetoric of racism, bigotry and religious intolerance has caused people in this country who are not politicians, the average citizen and non-citizen, to be maimed.
Democrats need to respond to this and respond to this quickly. The idea that the Democrats are responsible for this needs to stop now

(15,587 posts)Not to mention their own meanness when it comes to legislating and ruling. While I don't in any way condone this act, from what we know thus far, it strikes me as something they have brought upon themselves -- unlike the vicious, intolerant attacks we have seen since Trump's primary campaign against people of color, LGBTs, non-Christians, etc.
They are intentionally hurting the majority of people in this country with their ideological, greed driven agenda. Anxiety levels are high. I am not surprised by this incident and fear and expect we'll see more.
We are at war within this country. This is very sad and scary.

(36,227 posts)"2nd Amendment solutions", all the rallies where 45 sics the crowd on journalists, hecklers, etc., and all the gun humpers who used pictures of Obama and Hillary for target practice. And don't forget Uday's (or was it Qusay's ?) remark that Dems "are not even human". Oh, and of course, Ms. Palin's jokey little bull's-eyes. Add all the right-wing radio hosts (Rush, I'm looking at you) shouting "treason" and calling for hangings and executions and Ms. Colter's remark that the NYT should have been truck-bombed ... and then ask "Where DO these violent acts come from ?".
