Call For Unity A Phony Gesture After 8 Yrs Trashing Obama, & Hillary.

I don't take the GOP calls for unity now that one of their own has been attacked. They have pilloried Obama and Hillary for years. They have even stood by colleagues even making disguised death threats. And they have too silent when constituents have made threats or racist remarks.

They have stood by when all the hateful and racist rhetoric has been thrown out in the public arena. They have used racist code. That have encouraged violence.

So now they want unity as long as you go along with all the carp they want to do. They almost demand that you stop disrespecting or criticizing Republicans or Trump supporters.

For me I do not plan to unify.

Same here.

You mean I'm going to "unify" and get behind people who want to potentially MURDER 24 million people by throwing them OFF of their health care?

Their fake words ring HOLLOW.

They can go "F" off.

Hard to take them seriously now about unity. Too much ugly water under that bridge.

Still, I feel awful about what happened today.

I hope we survive as a country, checkered though our past is.

I don't want to go anywhere else. I love this country and its people, even when I don't understand some of them.

I'm no fan of him myself...not by a long shot.

I'm angry at the level of hatred has been unleashed, over decades of baiting people into lies and simplistic thinking - so angry sometimes I don't know what I can do. But I am not a person who could hurt someone else over my own thoughts; I'll never understand that sort of thinking.

Sigh. It's been a tough day all around.

They still intend to give billions in tax cuts to the Kochs, etc. They still won't stand up to the NRA. They continue to deny truth and science, while holding fast to Voodoo economics.

Can't help it. I hate them for forever placing party over country.

Yesterday's big story was that Trump was /is under investigation for money laundering and obstruction. The shooting buried it. That's a win for them. If somebody can't see even see a step ahead they should not be behind the wheel.

Anything that distracts from Trump's perfidy is a blow to the resistance.

I don't believe in shooting anybody. I'm not psychotic. But I understand the motivation and the act.

My mom had her leg amputated because a doctor messed up. The doctor lied about what caused it but ultimately we prevailed in a civil trial. I hated that doctor with a passion but never in my most fevered dreams did i want to shoot her.

Any way the shooting has taken us off our game. The focus should be on Trump's malfeasance. When I turn on the tv that is all I want to see.

You cannot treat republicans like normal people.

They are ready to kill 24 million people with taking away Obama Care.

They voted to keep it for themselves.

hijacking congressional processes and rewriting them to completely ignore the wishes of the majority of Americans.

When you steal peoples' voices, you don't silence them. You just drive them to desperate acts.

I don't condone violence against anyone, but I also don't think you can divorce what happened today from the context of Senate and Congressional Republicans ramming through legislation that hurts the majority of Americans with no consultation.

Taking access to health care away from 23 million people is an act of violence too, ignoring the fact that this will result in early death, suffering and bankruptcy for millions of the poorest Americans. I'm frankly not that surprised that a mentally unhinged person has responded this way and I suspect he won't be the last one without some pretty radical course correction by the current government.

If they want to unify, they can start with genuine consultation on the AHCA.

Horrid event from a psychopath doth not excuse an agenda destructive to the entire planet, nor an excuse to further obfuscate their leader's misdeeds or be utilized in public obfuscation and obstruction of justice.
As well as their heartless draconian healthcare "plan".
Why the hell this fool decided to legitimize their "LWNJ's" rhetoric...

Like dragging your health care bill out of the shadows and allowing debate and amendment and all the other things that a Democratic Congress would have done.

Like taking your duties seriously when it comes to investigating Trump and his cronies, and dropping this "leaks" angle, which is nothing more than taking Trump's turds and wiping them over the windshield to temporarily slow this ride down.

They are reaping what they have sown. They want everyone to have guns all the time for any reason anywhere? So be it. People are angry and they have every right to be. See TheFerret's recent post summarizing why we're all so angry

make sure Obama failed. The GOP obstructed every bill Obama wanted to pass..including his Supreme Court Justice nominee. Although Obama still accomplished a whole list of good things for the people, country, and planet in spite of them. Now they want unity. Unity. While they're busy hurting 99% of Americans. Don't make me laugh.
