Request edit/input. On the anniversary of the Watergate break-in

The 45th anniversary was yesterday, Saturday. I sent an email, something similar to this, to those I know who are on "the Reich", reminding me of this event. I tried to keep it short and simple. And I may use it again. If you have a free moment and have suggestions to make it better/clearer, let me know.

========================================

On this date, June 17th, in 1972, shortly after midnight, five burglars were arrested in an attempt to bug the offices of the Democratic National Committee at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC.

And thus began the ticking of the clock to where the President of the United States, facing impeachment, resigned from office in disgrace, which led to the indictment of 69 other top White House officials, 49 of which were found "Guilty!", with several sent to prison, among them TWO U.S. Attorney's General, all because two junior investigating reporters followed leads and took guidance from a senior director - of the FBI.

And here we are today, come full circle...

If you wanted to add some perspective just for reference you could additionally mention that Nixon's adminstration wasn't even the most corrupt.

The presidency of Ronald Reagan in the United States was marked by multiple scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any U.S. president.

And that all came AFTER the Nixon debacle--which says the GOP didn't learn anything from it or clean up their act, suggesting they may be terminally corrupt.

Keep it simple and to the point. "Your guy did this!" Stop. Everything else (and they will look for it!) just clutters their minds.
