(748 posts)I don't know anything about these young men, but their names suggest the diversity prevalent among those who are serving their country.
Just as well that Trump says nothing, it seems to me. For him even to speak to their sacrifice would be disgraceful.

(114 posts)Last week I visited the cemetery in Normandy and saw that same diversity. Wow, just think, America's skin is white and black and yellow and tan and olive and a mix of any of these. Poor men.

(17,862 posts)He had just took over command (May 2017) so, if the collision was due to dereliction on the part of the crew, he has limited ownership of that. Instead of leading the effort to save the ship he had to be Medevaced off of it.
Most folks are having a difficult time coming up with a plausible scenario on which the OOD and the other officers on duty where not remiss. Even if the cargo ship intentionally tried to ram the Destroyer, how could it get so close?

(63,221 posts)It's disgraceful that the POTUS has said nothing about the loss of these servicemen. He's too busy whining and playing the victim to be doing what he should be doing.

How presidential!
I'm surprised he didn't call in an air strike or torpedo attack against the other ship.

(9,426 posts)goes out to all the families of these brave servicemen. I know firsthand what it is like to lose a son. Worst pain you can imagine. I hope their families are treated better by the naval authorities than they are being treated by the Imposter-In-Chief.

(6,178 posts)... so sorry for your loss. The loss of your love ones.
Point two. When I served in the military in the mid 1960. MANY of the people I served with were from foreign countries. It appears that is the case today. So my question..... how will we fill all of the ranks of our military branches if we deport them and their families.
Short sighted hatred.
