Madness. Madness!!!

I have posted these words on multiple DU threads recently mainly because that is what I believe I am seeing, utterly blinkered madness.

The words come from a rather wonderful film from my youth, The Bridge on the River Kwai

Here's a clip of the scene, sadly without the hours long lead up to how the plot got there. If one watches the whole film one understands how truly mad the whole thing is. The only appropriate tag line then is how the film ends. "Madness... madness!"

I fear that we are living that plot now, as finally did Colonel Nicholson, self-imposed prisoners. That is where madness lies.

We still have much to learn.
