It's like this, folks.

It's going to take we the people en masse to stop the madness in DC. And when I say en masse I mean hundreds of thousands of souls in the streets of DC, shutting down everything... Think Egyptian Spring sans violence.

But the vast majority of people who would protest cannot because they are one paycheck from disaster. The pols in Washington know this. They have no fear of reprisal ala Marie Antoinette. They have no incentive to change the status quo. Thus the madness will continue unless and until we the people come together, personal hardship be damned.

Are you suggesting the guillotine here?

Frankly, I think the shooting last week turned GA-06 from a win to a loss for us. Drumpf got to be the consoler in chief rather than the usual asshat that he is. I think it energized lethargic GOP voters who otherwise would not have bothered to turn out.

I'm old enough to remember when violence gripped American cities in the mid-1960's AFTER the Civil Rights acts passed through Congress, and even with George Wallace bleeding off the most racist voters in America, as well as the electoral votes of five whole states, Nixon won the election. Whoever scares the mushy middle the most loses.
